Summary

Pick a master and serve.

Serve them well and die.

Marigold wants to die the right way.

She wants a transformative bite from her master.

Vampires have it all:

the statuesque look, the immortal life, and the power to enchant others.

All she has is debt, a distracted boyfriend, and a desire to be more than human.

When unwanted holiday gifts are exchanged between two master vampires,

Marigold’s wish might come true if she can survive until dawn.

A perfectly sized introduction into the new paranormal worlds created by urban fantasy and paranormal romance author Azaaa Davis.

My Review

5/5 Stars

Marigold (Mari’s) life has been far from perfect. Estranged from her family, the closest to a companion she has is her vampire master. She hopes that one day, he’ll bite her and save her from her life. Except things never go the way she plans.

I am amazed at how much detail and emotion Miss Davis could put into only 15,000 words. I could relate very heavily to Mari and all her struggles. To wish for the chance to start over and being willing to do anything to achieve it.

The worldbuilding was fantastic too. A world where both humans and supernatural beings seem to coexist in a way.

All in all, a wonderful, quick read. Short but powerful.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
