Wanda has the perfect family. Two sons and a loving husband, what more could she ask for? Except, something is wrong with her oldest son. Something dark. Something that threatens to shatter the world that Wanda has come to know. Turns out, Wanda isn’t without her own secrets.

This was one of those books where I would think about it even when I wasn’t reading it. Each chapter brought something new, something totally unpredicted, to the mix, and I couldn’t believe it. The characters were all very real for the flaws that they had. I loved how the author slowly brought each of those to light.

The slow decline into madness that Wanda took was very suspenseful and kept me turning the pages because I couldn’t guess what she would do next. If I had to pick a word to describe this book, I’d say it’s haunting. A lot of horror stories are easy to shake off because they feature situations that could never happen in real life.

This book on the other hand, is gut wrenching for the fact that it very well could happen.

I know I’ll certainly never think of Christmas the same way again.

All in all, this is a fantastic dark read that will keep you on the edge of your seat and in your feelings.
