So, some of you guys made have noticed the dramatic changes that I’ve done to my website. This is in preparation for my new pen name…or should I say, two pen names?
Gasp! New pen names?
Yes, new pen names.
I want to start by saying the idea of retiring my ten-year old pen name, Kayla Krantz, has not been an easy decision.
2023 has been one of my most life-changing years.
I’ve had a lot of personal things going on in my life and plenty of home changes. I got divorced after almost ten years of being married and I’ve had to do a lot of adjusting to my new life.
Because of that, I’ve decided to get a fresh start. I’ll be using two different pen names going forward. The first is my legal name, Kayla Frederick, which I will use to continue my indie projects. The second name, which I haven’t announced yet, will be used for traditional books, specifically a sci-fi series that is scheduled for release sometime mid next year.
As soon as details are finalized with the project, I’ll make an announcement publicly with more details.
Going back to my indie work, throughout 2024, I will be slowly moving books from my old pen name to the new one. You may have noticed some of my books are no longer for sale like After the Devil, When Night Falls, and a few others. They’ve been pulled from print, but it’s not permanent.
I have plans for these books in 2024.
I will be tweaking some of the stories and relaunching them with new covers. All of my old short story books will be combined into one big book that will have a handful of brand new stories sprinkled in. If you’re a fan of short stories, keep yours eyes open for that one.
In the meantime, if anyone would like an out of print copy of After the Devil or Flirting with Death, I have one copy of each available for sale in my etsy shop.
From the Flirting with Death collection, I’ve taken the featured story and republished it under the new pen name. I plan to have signed copies for sale in mid-January.
For now, that’s all the announcements from me.
Happy holidays, everyone, and a Happy New Year!
