I haven’t had this much fun reading a book in a long time.

When the world collapses around him, Carl finds himself alone with his girlfriend’s cat, Donut. Lost and confused, he winds up in a dungeon, pant-less, and learns he’s going to be at the center of alien entertainment. But not just him. All the surviving humans are now players (crawlers) in this new world.

Carl and Donut are both so easy to love and root for characters. Of course both of them have their flaws, but the dynamic of their relationships leads to them only learning more about one another.

I genuinely laughed quite a few times while listening to the audiobook. The voices just it so much funnier though the jokes themselves were pretty good.

This book was written in a way that made it super easy to visualize and lose yourself in the story.
