Summary
Phoebe Fox has it all!
The loving family, the supportive boyfriend, and the lavish life that comes with fame.
For the better part of two decades, Phoebe Fox has etched her name into pop-culture history. The Through The Years International Stadium Tour is the most must-see event, pulling in legions of screaming fans from all corners of the world.
After a show in Ireland, Phoebe and her security team hop on a private jet for the next city.
Amsterdam.
When they arrive, enroute to a private estate, Phoebe and her security detail are ambushed by a menacing and well-coordinated group at gunpoint.
Phoebe Fox has been taken.
With her head covered and her wrists bound, she arrives in an unknown location where she is auctioned off to the highest bidder among an exclusive elitist group made up of some of the world’s most powerful and influential people.
The situation worsens and her desperation grows with every new revelation. When Phoebe learns how she may be tied to deeper happenings within—and who is involved—who she was disappears, and who she must become to survive is born.
Phoebe Fox isn’t just writing songs.
She isn’t just taking back control of her story.
She’s taking back her life.
… Even if it means taking another.
My Review
5/5 Stars
Popstar Phoebe Fox is on top of the world. Until her and her crew are attacked while on tour, and she’s taken hostage. In the underground world of the Exhibit, it’s either be an artist or the canvas, and she’s got all the supplies to make a masterpiece.
I just want to start this by expressing how much I adored Phoebe. She was a phenomenal character. Strong, dedicated, and very easy to like especially with all the female rage! She was take charge and kickass is all the best ways.
The overall message in this book was such a breath of fresh air. I loved the acknowledgement of the David versus Goliath struggle that women face every day in a system that oppresses them. Especially those in the spotlight.
If you’re a fan of the gory stuff, this book has plenty of that too. Some scenes will definitely stick with you from the descriptions in the Exhibit. I’m going to be thinking about this book for a while. Seriously, if you like strong female characters, female rage, and fast-paced intense plots, this needs to be on the top of your TBR!
One of my fav quotes:
“No more men saying no. No more men gatekeeping. No more petty obstacles.”
